Setup Matters

This week we had straightforward issues to triage, a noncontroversial pull request to review, and ended up with a fairly short meeting.

Well, the wish for a boring week didn't quite come true. In addition to the nicely normal triage, we talked a bit about the WiX v3.10.2 security update and the (unfortunate) need for a WiX v3.10.3 soon.

WiX v3.10.2 is an important security release of WiX. We encourage all users of WiX to upgrade to WiX v3.10.2.

Mass excitement this week: Plenty to triage and even more to talk about with WiX's first security update. With a little luck, we have some nice boring weeks ahead of us.

Back in November, we announced the FireGiant AppX Extension for the WiX Toolset and support for Windows Server Applications (WSA). Today, FireGiant CEO and co-founder Rob Mensching appears on Microsoft's Channel 9 with Xumin Sun, a program manager on the Nano Server team. In the brief video, Rob and Xumin discuss WSA and the benefits of targeting both MSI and AppX from a single set of authoring, one of the big benefits of the FireGiant AppX Extension.

Welcome to 2016! We took a few weeks off for the past couple of Friday holidays but even with the holidays, bugs accumulated. And they did so in our new GitHub issue tracker.
